How To Make Avocado Popsicles

Tools: For this recipe, you will need your blender and a popsicle mold. When choosing a mold, we recommend deciding between the silicon and a standard one.

If you are an environmentally-friendly person you can buy a silicone popsicle mold. You will use it many times and maybe years. This decision is going to save you a lot of money.

Another advantage of silicone molds is flexibility. It’s easier to unmold the popsicles from silicone rather than a standard mold.

Ingredients:

For 6 servings:

  1. 500 liquid/yogurt
  2. 180 grams freeze-dried avocado powder
  3. 4-6 tbsp honey
  4. ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract
  5. ½ tsp lemon juice

For 2 servings:

  1. 100 liquid/yogurt
  2. 30 grams freeze-dried avocado powder
  3. 1 tbsp honey
  4. 1 tip of tsp pure vanilla extract
  5. 1 tip of tsp lemon juice

For the liquid, you can choose juice or milk. As long as you love iced water, you can go along with it. There is a saying out there, “Always be open to experiments”.

If you want soft popsicles we recommend to use greek yogurt or whole milk for a squishy taste. You can purchase the freeze-dried avocado powder online, check out KaTea.ca. Choose natural honey, for a healthier snack, or any other sweetener you like.

Instructions:

Step 1: Make The Popsicle Mix

Add the ingredients into a blender and mix them well. If you make your popsicles with water, be sure to add a little bit of sugar or honey in it while it's hot. After it has cooled off you can blend the ingredients as usual.

You can make soft popsicles, based on dairy products like milk or yogurt. Mix the ingredients in a saucepan over medium-high heat and boil it. Cool it off and then move on to the next step.

p.s. The boiling is only for the milk, or the products that need to be cooked before.

Step 2: Mold

The process of molding is simple. Use a spoon for a clean result. Pour the mix in the molds and be sure to leave about ¼ inch space at the top. The popsicles will freeze and naturally expand.

Step 3: Freeze

Depending on the thickness of your mix, it would take about 4 - 8 hours of freezing time. For our recipe, 4 hours will be enough. Be sure to check how solid the popsicles are before unmolding them.

Step 4: Unmold

An easy and fast way of unmolding your popsicles would be using warm water. You can either use a bowl or just the water tap. Choose a bowl that is as tall as the popsicle mold or almost.

No matter what you want to use, pour warm water or deep the mold into it for 20 to 30 seconds. Place it onto a solid surface and pull the popsicles very gently.

Step 5: Enjoy your homemade popsicles!
